PhD in Biology with a work on the murine immune response to meningococci (University of Santiago de Compostela). Postdoc at University of Stockholm, (Sweden), Pasteur Institute (Paris, France), University of Jussieu-Paris VI (France), and University of Salamanca. Assistant professor at University of Salamanca, and PI at Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (Oeiras, Portugal). In January 2005 he joined the IN1 research group at Universidade de Vigo as an Isidro Parga Pondal-Xunta de Galicia fellow. Associate professor of Immunology at Universidade de Vigo from 2009 until present. Having an ample experience in experimental immunology, he turned to mathematical immunology in search of a quantitative-theoretical understanding of the main immune processes.
